Support Food Roots
Food Roots is working to grow a more robust food system for Tillamook County by engaging the community, supporting farmers and entrepreneurs, and improving access to local food. Want to help?
There are a number of ways to contribute to the unique and important work we do throughout Tillamook County.

We depend on community giving to carry out our mission. It’s the support of individuals and businesses that allows us to get hundreds of kids out into school gardens every year.
That same support allows us to provide capital and financial literacy classes to beginning farmers and food entrepreneurs; provide support for and expand farmers markets; develop community garden spaces and provide free adult garden classes for community members with limited means; and increase access to nutritious, affordable food at local markets through important awareness campaigns.
To best sustain our work, become a Friend of Food Roots through a recurring monthly or annual donation.
By providing us a reliable source of income, you enable us to better able to plan ahead with an understanding of the resources available to us.

Fundraising Events: Pie Nights
Food Roots coordinates fundraising events throughout the year to engage our community in supporting our work while enjoying delicious food and sharing stories of our successes, challenges, and future goals.
We do this through our three Pie Night events based in Nehalem, Tillamook, and Pacific City, in partnership with White Clover Grange in Nehalem, Pacific Restaurant in Tillamook, and with the South County Food Pantry and Pacific City and Neskowin Farmers Markets.
These fundraising events bring together both home and professional bakers and dozens of volunteers to auction pies and enjoy a pie feast and good cheer, all in support of Food Roots programs and those of our event partners!
Farm to Table Dinner Series
In late 2018, Food Roots launched a Farm to Table Dinner Series in partnership with Nehalem River Ranch and local restaurants to highlight the bounty of our north coast producers and to provide an intimate space in which to share our accomplishments and our future goals.
These multi-course dinners showcase the farmers, ranchers, fishers, foragers, and chefs who make our north coast community such an incredible place to eat. Each dinner features a series of unique dishes designed by the hosting chefs to best present the local flavors of our north coast food system.
Restaurant partners in this series have included the Salmonberry Saloon in Wheeler, Offshore Grill in Rockaway Beach, and Pacific Restaurant in Tillamook. We have completed our 2018-19 series and expect to return in late 2019 or early 2020 with a new series of dinners. Stay tuned for additional details or email Joel Caris to learn more.
