Every day at Food Roots, we work to grow and strengthen our Tillamook County food system. And every dollar that you donate to Food Roots makes a difference. By supporting us, you support farmers, students, and local food eaters. You support some of the most vulnerable in our community, providing them better access to fresh and affordable, locally-grown food. You ensure a strong and thriving food system—rooted in a legacy of successful local farmers, ranchers, fishers, and foragers—well into the future. We have accomplished so much together the past year:
We provided over 350 hours of garden-based education and Farm to School activities—from farm field trips to local product tastings—to 1,071 Tillamook County students during the 2018-19 school year.
We made over $45,000 in matched capital available for local farmers and food entrepreneurs in Tillamook County with our Individual Development Account program.
We created over $44,000 in sales for 30 North Coast producers in the past year alone through our FarmTable local food storefront in downtown Tillamook at 113 Main Ave.
We connected over 200 low-income SNAP (food stamp) participants with more than $11,000 worth of locally grown food through all four Tillamook County farmers markets and at our Food Roots FarmTable storefront.
And we did plenty more, as outlined in our 2018-19 Annual Report.
