Earlier in August we welcomed two new members to our Farm to School team. Both are are avid home gardeners, kitchen adventurers, and are eager to work with our partner schools! Next time you see them at the office or at school, say hi!
Nicholas Hoffnagle joins us from Portland and is our FoodCorps full time service member for the 2019-2020 school year. He'll be serving with South Prairie Elementary School in Tillamook and Nestucca Valley Elementary School.
Nicholas is: - A firm believer in environmental justice - A bread baker, cheese maker, meat curer and houseplant grower (including coffee and vanilla bean orchid!) - A past hiker of the California section of the Pacific Crest Trail
Aristotle Decker also joins us from Portland, and is our first permanent garden educator! He'll be providing garden-based education this year at Nehalem Elementary School, Garibaldi Grade School, and working with the Introduction to Agriculture class at the Tillamook Junior High School.
Aristotle is: - A firm believer that every living being has value - A craver of basketball, equality and a good smelling garden - A master of eating baked goods
