Position Title: Storefront Associate
Reports to: Office & Outreach Coordinator
Supervisor Responsibility: None
Hours/Schedule: 8 hours per week, 2:30 - 5:30pm Fridays, 10am - 2pm Saturdays, June - September; potential for work hours to shift with the right candidate, please inquire.
Location: This position is based at our downtown Tillamook office/storefront; 113 Main Ave.
Compensation: $16 hourly wage
Duration of employment: This is a temporary, seasonal position
FARMTABLE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
FarmTable is a local food marketplace (both online and a physical storefront) and is a program of Food Roots, a non-profit organization working to grow a robust and equitable food system in Tillamook County since 2006. FarmTable connects our community and its visitors directly to approximately 50 north coast food producers and their products. Products available include local meat, seafood, dairy, eggs, honey, seasonal produce and value added products such as jams, preserves and so much more!
POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Be on site to operate the storefront on Fridays and Saturdays during specified store hours (10am-2pm).
Provide customer service to walk-in customers and facilitate sales of products.
Be knowledgeable of the local food products sold at FarmTable, who produces the food and where.
Serves customers by helping them select products. Drives sales through engagement of customers, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge. Responds to customers' questions.
Greets and receives customers in a welcoming manner.
Understands and can provide information to customers about how to shop online at FarmTable.
Keep the storeroom organized and tidy.
Ensure that items are priced and labeled correctly.
Facilitates sales; handles cash and other payments such as credit cards, SNAP/EBT, Farm Direct Nutrition Program checks.
POSITION ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS
Motivated, self-starter attitude with excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking, customer service skills
Strong ability to work independently, and to ask for clarification if any task is not understood
Proficient in point of sale/Square transactions and ability to learn our online sales system through Local Food Marketplace
Ability to speak, read and write Spanish at a conversational level is strongly preferred.
