Hoop House Incubator

Through the vision of Food Roots Founder Shelly Bowe, along with the Port of Tillamook Bay and other local partners, Food Roots constructed two high tunnel season extension hoop houses in the spring of 2019. These hoop houses provide growing spaces for beginning farmers to jumpstart their businesses through affordable leasing of  indoor and outdoor land.

Who's using the hoop houses?

Circe’s Garden, owned and operated by Patrick and Courtney Mortensen, began their farming venture in 2018 on 1/10 of an acre. With a year of experience under their belts, they moved into the Food Roots hoop houses in the spring of 2019, and expanded their production of salad greens and vegetables. They now supply Food Roots FarmTable and local restaurants with their produce.
