Food Roots plays a key role in developing school and community gardens in Tillamook County. We built and continue to manage, maintain, and upgrade the gardens at East Elementary and Tillamook Junior High, which currently serve dual purposes of providing space for our Farm to School educational efforts and providing individual plots for community members to grow their own food.
Tillamook County’s community gardens are an informal network, with gardens located up and down the coast. To make it easier to find gardens near you, we’ve create the following map with markers of all the known school, learning, and community gardens in the county, including contact information.
Blue markers indicate school and learning gardens while green markers indicate community gardens. Simply click on a marker on the map to receive further information. If you are involved with a garden not currently listed, please let us know and we’ll make sure to get your garden on the map.
